For your lunchtime pleasure, I’m presenting a series of my favorite bento boxes. Bento are Japanese home-prepared meals served in special boxes, usually eaten for lunch at work or school. These days, bento enthusiasts from all over the world share their creations on Flickr.

Sakurako Kitsa’s Halloween-themed bento reminds me of a full trick-or-treat bag. There are so many nibbly little treats I don’t know where to start: A jack-o-lantern idli (lentil and rice cake) tinted orange with food dye and sporting a full head of cilantro hair, bits of candied ginger, chicken vindaloo with sesame seeds, stir-fried zucchini with onion, wrapped wagashi (Japanese candy), carrots and frozen grapes, mini pumpkin muffins, and sliced Pink Lady apples with caramel sauce and crushed peanuts.
